Speaker References
The very first time I met Sherry Payne was at a Missouri Midwives Association Gathering. She was quiet and observant. The meeting was really a two day retreat. Around sunset we made a fire circle and shared stories about who we were, why we believed in Midwifery and Womyn and how we felt being together would support us individually and collectively. When it came round to Sherry, she stood up, stood tall, and out of that quiet, silent observant stature came a voice that thundered across the valley and silenced the circle of wimyn gathered there as they listened to her recitation of a poem about wimyn and power.  Every time Sherry speaks her truth, I hear that same quiet power thundering in my soul, reminding me of the voice and face amid flames in the night so many decades ago.
    May God bless her story.

    Divine Blessings,
